100 Years War

Beynac Castle was a very important strategic position to hold during the hundred years war. It was home to Richard the Lionheart and today you can visit his old bedroom. The english and the french both controlled several chateaux overlooking each other. You’ll be able to learn more about this on our daily excursions.

Picnic by the River

We have a beautiful shaded spot to sit and enjoy a picnic lunch by the river, overlooking the castle on one side and this old bridge on the other side.
