Marrakech, Morocco

23 – 30 January 2027

Ive learned I can paint anywhere in the world. Im an expat artist — I built my first studio in Romania, then moved to Poland and established a new one there, and honestly… who knows where the next destination will be. What stays constant is the work, the need to paint, to express myself. People have travelled from different countries to visit my studios or see my technique in real life — and now Im in this new adventure: leading workshops in art retreats. Because the truth is, we already have everything we need inside us to paint — no matter where we are.

Join me for an inspiring week in Marrakech, where, in a charming villa, youll have access to an art studio space, with everything you need to paint, experiment and create freely.

The 7-day painting retreat is combining daily studio time with the magic of Morocco. This is a hands-on experience designed to help you loosen up, get inspired and create in a supportive environment, surrounded by a small group of like-minded people.

Well paint every day. Ill share my techniques and approach, and youll work on your own pieces — fuelled by Marrakechs visual feast of patterns, textures, architecture, markets, gardens, light and bold contrasts.

Between sessions, well enjoy excursions, relaxed meals and time to recharge at the beautiful villa with pools, stunning views and plenty of space to rest. Beginners, experienced artists, curious first-timers are all welcome. Non-painting partners can join too, with discounted rates.

Paint from instinct. Build with intention.

After years of painting and working both independently and with galleries — and seeing my work enter collections in over 30 countries — Ive learned one essential thing:

Most people dont need more techniques.
They need to find their voice — and trust it on canvas.

This abstract painting workshop is an immersive, studio-led experience open to all levels, from practicing artists to complete beginners.

Youll see my full process up close: how I build layers, how I ruin paintings and rescue them, how I simplify, how I create tension, softness, contrast, silence, and energy.

I start messy and full. I start by putting everything I feel on the canvas. Then I simplify, I adjust shapes until they no longer represent something literal, but become universal, interpreted differently by everyone who meets them.

Ill offer guidance, structure and feedback, but the painting will remain yours. My goal is to help you hear your own voice louder.

Marrakesh is the perfect setting for this kind of work: intense color, texture everywhere, light and shadow, chaos and calm. Its a place that reminds us that beauty doesnt need permission to exist… and neither does our art.

Potential Itinerary:

Flights – there are direct flights to Marrakesh from Houston, San Francisco, Newark, Atlanta, and Chicago. For our Canadian friends: direct flights are also often available from Toronto and Montreal.

Day 1: Arrival at the airport, transfer by private car to the domaine. Settle in, relax and explore the property. Lunch (if required) and evening meal at the domaine.

Day 2: Guided tour of the Medina, special lunch and tour of the palace/ruins

Day 3: Full-day trip to the Atlas mountains or desert with sketching

Day 4: Rest day, painting at the villa, optional trip into Marrakesh

Day 5: Visit to the YSL museum and gardens + sketching

Day 6: Morning painting at the domain, visit to la Koutoubia and Jemaa el Fna

Day 7: Visit to the Souks, sketching and souvenir buying + farewell dinner

Day 8: Breakfast followed by departure for the airport via private car.

This is currently a loose schedule – There are also many other activities we can organise depending on your group. More plein air painting, Camel rides, a visit to a Berber village, and other historical and cultural sites to visit in Marrakesh. Pottery or rug making. Each retreat will vary slightly depending on the group and of course there will be plenty of time for painting each day.
