Roxanne Steed Workshop 2025
Roxanne Steed is coming to Perigord Retreats from the 08 – 17 July 2025 for a plein air watercolour workshop.
Roxanne is an experienced traveler and workshop presenter and has been painting for several decades. She honed her skills while painting in oils and studying with many exceptional teachers, including some of the original Disney artists. Now she invites you to come along on a journey of discovery.
She has created a workshop that will guide you through the basics of watercolor, color mixing, value, and composition. She will show you how to capture the feeling of the place you are painting in a simple, straight forward method.
And for those who imagine all watercolor turns to “mud brown” she will demonstrate the best ways to keep your colors fresh and vibrant.

You Time With Roxanne Steed
This is a workshop for all levels of painters, from beginner to experienced artists – Roxanne works equally well with all. For newer painters, it’s a very good idea to be immersed in a group of varying levels – you will learn even more by being surrounded by other artists. We are an inclusive community and you will feel welcome. And we keep the groups small, so you will have plenty of time with Roxanne.
For the more experienced painters, this is an opportunity to pick up new tips and tools from Roxanne, all while being in one of the most inspiring and beautiful areas of France. Plan on bringing your painting stool because you will be painting in some panoramic locations!
During the workshop, Roxanne will share her experience and expertise with you using learning modules, either in the studio or en plein air. Roxanne will break down the sometimes-daunting watercolor process into bitesize steps that will give you all the tools you need to create memorable and lively sketchbook pages that will become a beloved recollection of your trip as well as a tool box of skills you can then use to move forward in your art practice, whether it be drawing, sketching or painting.
“My biggest thrill is to watch my students discover and grow their love of painting. As your teacher, I would love to guide you through the challenges and help you find the “easy button” as your skills improve.“
