Art in Marrakesh: A Retreat for the Senses and the Soul
This retreat is all about shared experiences- painting, sketching, making, exploring, and discovering the beauty of Morocco together. Imagine a week where every day brings a new blend of color, culture, and creativity, from relaxed studio sessions to immersive excursions that spark your imagination.
For seven unforgettable days, we will stay at a breathtaking domaine nestled in an olive grove with sweeping views of the Atlas Mountains. Our accommodations are exquisite, with daily maid service, 24-hour concierge, a stunning pool and grounds, and richly layered décor that reflects the spirit and beauty of Morocco. Between adventures, there will be plenty of time to unwind- whether that’s relaxing by the pool, enjoying a cup of mint tea, or chatting with new art friends as the sun sets.

Workshop Highlights
This retreat welcomes brand new to intermediate painters, as well as non-painting partners who simply wish to travel, rest, and explore alongside us. Our focus will be on travel, Moroccan color, rest and retreat, painting, coastal beauty, and play. You’ll be encouraged to sketch or photograph as we move through our days, gathering inspiration everywhere we go.
We’ll spend our time soaking up the golden light of Marrakech, wandering through gardens and markets, and taking in the textures and patterns that make this destination so captivating- including the home and gardens of Yves Saint Laurent, the vibrant medinas and souks, and a plein air day in either the Atlas Mountains or the Sahara Desert.
Our small, close-knit group creates a warm, welcoming atmosphere where friendships form naturally, laughter comes easily, and creativity flows freely. A beautiful balance of guided instruction and open creative time allows you to grow your artistic voice while fully enjoying the experience of travel.
Here’s what you can look forward to:
• Daily painting & creative sessions to grow your own unique creative voice
• Making your own sketchbook
• Document your travels & experiences through art & lettering
• Inspiring excursions through Morocco’s colors, architecture, and light
• A plein air day in the mountains or desert
• Studio time to translate what we’ve seen and felt into our sketchbooks
• New friendships, delicious food, and meaningful connection
• Beautiful accommodations with space to rest and recharge
• The exceptional care and support of the Perigord Retreats team
Whether you’re traveling with a friend or coming solo, you’ll arrive to a group ready to welcome you- and leave with memories, artwork, and friendships that stay with you long after the trip ends.
Come with an open heart and a curious mind, and begin writing your own Moroccan tale- one filled with color, connection, and creative renewal.
