Your Time With Katrina
Get ready for a magical and inspiring experience filled with creativity, exploration, and joy. Your 10 days in Gourdon, France will be a beautiful blend of artmaking, inspiring excursions, cultural discoveries, meditation, and of course, plenty of free time to relax, recharge, and enjoy the peaceful French countryside.
Situated in the serene landscape near a small hamlet, we’ll be staying at Perigord Retreats — a beautiful countryside sanctuary surrounded by nature and inspiration. You’ll enjoy comfortable and cosy accommodations, a spacious fully equipped indoor studio available throughout the retreat, nourishing home-cooked meals, beautiful gardens (including blooming lavender during this season), and excursions into the breathtaking medieval villages and landscapes of the Dordogne and Lot regions. It’s truly a special place that supports creativity and connection, and I cannot wait to share it with you.
During our time together, Katrina will guide you through two main art projects inspired by magic, myths, and legends. We’ll be working with acrylics and oils, painting mystical and magical creatures while exploring personal symbolism, imagination, and intuitive creativity. Her teaching style is supportive, encouraging, and accessible, and all skill levels are welcome — whether you’re experienced or just beginning your creative journey.
Alongside our creative sessions, we’ll also share meditations and oracle practices designed to help you connect with your intuition and inner guidance, bringing deeper meaning and inspiration into your artwork.
For inspiration, we’ll explore enchanting medieval villages, visit ancient castles, discover mystical caves, wander local markets, and soak in the beauty of the French countryside rich with history and atmosphere. There may also be opportunities for sketching or gathering ideas during excursions to bring back into the studio.
When we’re not creating, you’ll have time to rest by the gardens, enjoy the peaceful surroundings, connect with fellow participants, and simply experience the magic of being in this beautiful region of France.
This retreat is more than an art class — it’s a creative escape into imagination, inspiration, and your own inner magic.

A Day with Us Looks Like This…
Your day begins with a peaceful breakfast of freshly baked French pastries, homemade yoghurt, and seasonal fruit—best enjoyed in the sunlit conservatory as the day gently unfolds.
Part of your day will be spent soaking up the atmosphere of a new place: wander through charming side streets, discover hidden corners, or settle into a quiet spot to sketch and take it all in.
When you’re ready for lunch, a beautiful spread awaits—think crisp salads, savoury quiches, homemade cookies, and a glass (or two) of wine, served picnic-style in the shade.
The other part of your day is for creativity and rest. Back at the studio, you’ll have dedicated time to paint, unwind by the pool, take a nap, read, sunbathe, or simply enjoy good conversation in a quiet corner.
Evenings are a highlight: a delicious, three-course meal made with local ingredients, prepared by one of our chefs—whose cooking alone is worth the trip. With wine flowing and good company around the table, it’s a chance to relax and connect.
After dinner, the time is yours. Watch the sunset, return to the studio for more painting, take a dip in the hot tub, or explore the nearby paths under the stars.
Our retreats are designed to be flexible, inspiring, and restorative—so you can get exactly what you need out of your time with us.
