Since moving to France in late 2015, we’ve been developing the our property continuously so that we can host the best painting workshops in France. We’ve paid special attention to the gardens. Just a short walk along the driveway you will see our indoor swimming pool. This is surrounded by bifold doors which open out to let the outside in whilst keeping leaves and debris out. The saltwater pool is kind to the skin and always welcoming. Take a relaxing swim early morning before breakfast or on your return from your en plein air excursion.
In the Perigord, our climate lends itself to growing palm trees but also temperatures lower than minus 15. As a consequence, we have to plant and grow whatever is appropriate. We occasionally experiment to see if something will work but we have a predominance of oaks, figs, conifers, rhododendrons, azaleas and of course geraniums.
There are plenty of places to sit and enjoy the peace and tranquillity. We have several adult swings to enjoy the shade of the trees and lay back in one of the hammocks to enjoy. We’ve also got private areas all over the garden. Between the fruit trees, the lavender field, grape vines and oleanders – you’ll always have a private space to enjoy the tranquility and warm weather.
If you wander through the gates, you will enter our lavender field and may be approached by our laying hens. Feel free to stop and enjoy the countryside, pull up a stool and just sit and enjoy. We are always working on new ways to make sure we continue to host the best painting workshops in France.
